Nu-Style Products - Laminate Fabrication
Kinellar Primary School is a newly built school, with attached nursery in Aberdeenshire. As part of the construction, Nu-Style Products designed, manufactured and installed various washroom and education furniture products into the new school and nursery, servicing pupils from aged 3 to 11.
Morrison Construction partnered with Nu-Style Products on this project due to our product knowledge and excellent customer service, which was demonstrated in a previous project.
One of the key challenges of the project was to design and manufacture furniture that matched with the client and the architect’s design brief. We offered a wide range of laminate decors and worked closely with the client to get them their desired colours.
The project had to be completed within a tight deadline and to ensure we met the deadlines, the classroom furniture was manufactured as modular type units which were pre-assembled and this minimised installation time on site. This meant that the client’s deadlines were met and the project was completed in time.
The brightly coloured Nu-Solitude cubicles were installed into the washrooms of the school, along with Integrated Plumbing Systems (IPS) panels and vanity units. To provide a stylish design, ultimate privacy and strength in the washrooms, the cubicles were installed with full height doors with only a 10mm floor clearance.
The nursery section of Kinellar had slightly different priorities in their washrooms. As they wanted to keep with the same bright colours/themes to provide a fun environment for pre-school children, the client opted for our Nu-Infantz cubicles which are low level to aid supervision for younger pupils.
Nu-Style also designed, manufactured and installed the teaching wall units, sink wash up areas and the clothing units for every classroom in the school. The colours of the classrooms were chosen by the architect and manufactured by Nu-Style to consistently provide a bright and colourful atmosphere throughout all areas of the building.
