Fraser Ward

Project Overview:

We designed, manufactured and supplied various bespoke anti-ligature health care furniture products for the Fraser Ward inside Cornhill Hospital in Aberdeen. Cornhill hospital is a centre for the care and treatment of people with mental health problems and the Fraser Ward is a specialist ward inside the hospital. The client required the following products for the ward; open tall units, open bedside units, headboards, nurses’ desks, healthcare units and shelves, and base and wall units for the staff room, clinic preparation room and the laundry room. These were all design and manufactured by our in-house furniture team.

After successfully completing the first phase of the Huntly Ward back in 2018, we tendered for the Fraser Ward as the second phase and won the project as a trusted supplier of bespoke furniture to the health care industry.

Project Challenge:

We were tasked with ensuring we supplied furniture that not only met the demanding clinical standards of the ward but was durable enough to withstand the daily use from hospital staff and patients. One of the key challenges of this project was the timing. In a busy hospital environment, renovations have to be completed as efficiently as possible so that disruption is kept to a minimum. The furniture had to be delivered and installed in a tight timescale.
